Cobb County is essentially bisected by I-75, with the two sides locally known as East Cobb and West Cobb.  Both sides lay claim to the Marietta name, though technically the city of Marietta does not extend far into either side. While West Cobb’s population continues to grow, East Cobb remains a desirable area to live for a number of reasons.  One reason is that some of the best public schools in the state are in East Cobb.  Walton, Pope and Lassiter high schools routinely have the state’s highest SAT scores, with Sprayberry High School making its mark in academic circles.

With East Cobb’s popularity and growth over the past twenty years, buildable land has become somewhat scarce, meaning that new homes are priced in the upper figures. However, re-sales are vibrant because of the area’s affordability and lure of first-class shopping and recreational facilities and ease of travel.
